Denali

Denali, the "High One," is the name Athabascan native people gave this massive peak, the highest in North America at 20,320 feet. Denali is also the name of an immense national park and preserve created from the former Mount McKinley National Park, established in 1917.

My daughter, now attending college in Fairbanks, needed her bicycle and some replacement tires for her car. We drove to Healy to meet her for lunch at the Totem Inn.

It was a perfect day, a warm 56 degrees F, few clouds. Many beautiful views, typical of Alaska. More: 1.)Chulitna River 2.)Brooks Range

The Blip is fully interactive with Google Maps.
