Look who came to see us!

Aaaarghhhhhh - horrendous news popped into our email box last night that the flight from Nelson to Auckland on Thursday was cancelled! That was almost it. Himself tried to contact Air New Zealand and was on hold for at least an hour and a half when we finally gave up at around 11.30pm. I searched for alternative means of travel and there weren't many.

In power mode, Himself was on it first thing this morning and we got through fairly quickly only to be told there was a flight! We assured him there wasn't, he went off to check and confirmed we were right, then transferred us. Noooo. After a lot of discussion, conflicting suggestions and a massive amount of patience in between terrible music, we are now travelling down to Christchurch tomorrow for an early morning flight from there on Thursday - at least a five hour trip. That was the only option really so a car and a motel is booked.

There is good news though. Our Covid test are through so we won't have to hang around to collect our certificates and we are negative hurray!

More good news. We finally met up with Tanya who lives in Nelson. A good chin wag was had in the Suter cafe.

Even more good news. Joe and Esme braved the Hill and came to see us. We rendezvoused at Nature World, a small and friendly mini zoo. How lovely to see them again and Esme has grown and learnt many more words since we left. We admired the cheeky goats, marvelled at the largeness of kune kune pigs, and  told the kea to be a little quieter. Then we romped on Tahunanui beach which was looking magnificent but was pretty fresh.  All too soon it was time for them to go and we walked back into town - a bracing 6km mainly along the coast.

Himself is now packing but I think I shall wait until tomorrow.
Don't forget St Jude/Ganesh/St Christopher/anyone you can think of please!
