Abu Fahed

Around the corner from home is a sandy road which leads to a cluster of shops, including my favourite vegetable stall.

Abu Fahed always welcomes me with a broad smile and a hearty 'assalamu alaikum'. He picks out the very best of his vegetables for me, sometimes pulling out boxes from the back of the stall with better quality produce.

Even though my terrible reluctance to cook means that I visit him shamefully rarely, I always look forward to seeing him.
