Harvest

The day has been filled with dust. Though how the blazes so many bits of straw got inside the car, I'd really like to know.

As you realise, Norwestie isn't very tall. Normally she sees things from only about 9 inches above the ground and misses a lot. So when we're out, I often pick her up so she sees things from my height. This morning I did that as we stepped out of the front door, and we stood to take in the view of the partially harvested field. (See extra.) Norwestie lives life through her nostrils and, ears pricked, her little nose was working overtime. The scent of barley was everywhere.

Later, as you can see, things got much less tidy.
