Hobby

This morning we were booked into the International Birds of Prey Centre for a visit, and after a “Road Closed” scenario we found ourselves pootling around a load of country lanes until we finally came upon it, mainly by accident I think.
It wasn’t supposed to rain, but of course it did, but today we were better prepared with raincoats. They have lots of different raptor species and also a large number of owls. The best bit was the flying demonstration where we saw, hawk, burrowing owl, peregrine, eagle owl and a pair of vultures. It was interesting, informative, funny and above all by this time it was DRY :)

Today’s blip is of a hobby just because I liked it. Such a sweet tiny raptor that is not seen in the wild so often. In extras I have added a couple of the stars of the flying demo.

My Dad has been discharged from hospital and the CT scan was clear which is a HUGE relief I can tell you! He was diagnosed with enteritis which they say was caused by some antibiotics prescribed by the doctor last week. We are not convinced this is true, but he is feeling much better today, has stopped being sick and is eating normally again so he was happy to come home. Fingers crossed we can put this episode behind us and there is no reoccurrence anytime soon. His GP will be instructed to do some more blood tests to investigate if his recent weight loss has been caused by a thyroid problem, but that’s for another day....
