The geese ....

.....are returning to Strangford Lough, but they were too far away, so here's a Little Egret instead!
Actually the Light Bellied Brent geese usually return to the Lough in late September, so this year they have started to return a few weeks early. The tide was out and they are usually found close to the waters edge, feeding on the eel grass, so they were a long way from the bird hide at Castle Espie, but through the binoculars we could see hundreds of them. Just another sign that time is flying!
