Reaching for the sky

We got the old liner pulled up and out of the chimney stack today and the shiny new, double skinned, replacement inserted.  With a bit of upside down manhandling (and a lung-full of soot for me) we got the fireplace end into position and (after a bit of cutting, manoeuvring, angle-grinding and swearing) the wood-burner was finally hooked up.  So we can use the stove from today onwards, but I need to get the fireplace opening boarded up with the pink fireproof plasterboard that has been lurking in my garage for a while.  Then a bit of tiling and we are complete. Elated with our success, and because we had the cherry picker onsite, I went aloft with Toggy and cleaned the glass canopy that covers the side terrace.  In-between-times, Naomi was working very hard on the second day of Wisteria Wars, stripping back the troublesome bits that had wound their way up, in and around the old beams.  All in all it was a tiring, but very rewarding, day.
