High ISO

Tonight was camera club night which was postponed from last Tuesday due to the snow. It was an interactive meeting based on getting to know your camera, camera settings (ISO, aperture and shutter speed) how each one affects the finished image, lens choices and finally starting to go through the actual thought process that you go through from seeing the image in your head to pressing the shutter button and capturing the final image. It was a very interesting evening and even the members that were up to speed with the camera basics did learn something new. One of the tasks that was set was to find what ISO you are happy to go up to and still be happy with the final image (how much noise can you tolerate?). One thing that I have never tried with my camera until now was to push the ISO up as high as it would go and I must say that I am happy with the result, even the colour version was interesting but I personaly think and this was mentioned at the meeting that grain/noise seems to suit Black and White.
