Marjorie's ramblings

Another willing victim!

It was a lovely sunny day with a nip in the air.

The day started with a Zoom meeting of the RPS Northern Documentary Group. It was lovely to see people again after a long gap on my part. We had a good chat and enjoyed watching the images people contributed.

There were a few technical problems. Some members could not join the meeting because they did not have Zoom accounts already. There were numerous phone calls to help them join. Later, one of the late arrivals, could not share his screen. It turned out that his level of security on the computer was too high. After watching him try to sort it empirically for over 15 minutes I suggested Googling the problem. Then I did Google it. Then I was able to read out the actions required and he was able to share his screen. Phew! It was worth waiting for too.

Lesley C, our decorator before she retired and now writer of haikus, came to see us. She and Mum are doing daily haikus and sharing them. We had a lovely chat.

Here is Lesley sporting her magnificent hat. The bushes behind were very distracting so I had to do something with them. I quite fancy another background.

She makes me think of Mary Poppins!

Tonight Mum and I listened to a talk from the British Academy in a series called Why history? Tonight's talk was Vanished: extinction past and present and the speaker was Dr Sadhia Qureshi. She talked about her research into the practice of bringing people from all over the world to the UK for them to perform as examples of their particular race. It was a fascinating talk. Unfortunately the sound quality was poor so Mum could not hear.

Arth has had another good day.
