Making a splash...
Andrew's last day with us before he heads home tomorrow. He's already talking about his next visit and says we can get a date in the diary before he leaves :-) Given the doom contained in the UK covid briefing today I just hope it won't be another six months before he's able to visit!
But thoughts of another lockdown were pushed to one side and the lads had a great time in the pool this afternoon. So wonderful to hear their shrieking and laughter, which was very loud as I could hear it over the music they had blaring over the sound system! I sneaked in to take a pic to send to Andrew's mum and it's handily double up as my blip :-))
This evening I cooked my first meal from Mary Berry's new cookbook Simple Comforts. I made the Posh Bacon, Asparagus and Mushroom Spaghetti. It was lovely. Like carbonara with veggies :-)) Planning to make the Firecracker Chicken drumsticks tomorrow night.
This day last year we arrived in Stornoway for a week exploring Lewis and Harris. Oh how I wish I was there now! I am just so thankful that we went last year because if we'd been forced to cancel that holiday, I would have been heartbroken.
And no idea why, but I've been singing THIS SONG all day, although I've just realised the lyric "you're so afraid to catch a dose of influenza" might have some relevance to current circumstances! lol
