Nanolathing

Among the most beautiful things I ever saw in Leicestershire. 
On the road up to the Beacon crossroads is a puddle. It's always there. It's either a run off from the fields, that constantly runs, or more likely a damaged water main. Either way, the puddle is a permanent feature.
After a couple of days of temperatures close to zero, the cars splashing through it have sprayed the hedge with icy water that has formed these icicles.
As you can see it was a grim day when I got the chance to take a picture. They must look incredible in the weak, winter sunshine...
