TRYING TO HIDE....

... but the afternoon sun caught him out!

Went by the Lagoon this arvo, the wind was really blowing so did not expect much.

As I walked to the side, this Sacred Kingfisher roared past as they do, and went into a tree about 30 metres on the other side.

Surprisingly, it sat looking around for quite a time, I think it was out of the wind and warming up in the sun. Must be a younger one as its colouring did not seem to be developed.

Then spotted a young Dusky Moorhen here being fed by Mum. It was quite good watching the process... check out a few more starting here .

And to finish off, a Red necked Wattlebird here flew in to watch what was going on.
