bush tucker

Out for an early stroll on a beautifully cool morning, with lots of happy dogs and smiling folks joking about how nice it was to see grey skies!!

The Marri trees (Corymbia calophylla) are in full bloom and literally dripping nectar. These two ladies were collecting armfuls of blossom ( and possibly bees) and the lady in the green, tucked away in the background is June, founder of Kanyana Wildlfe Rehabilitation Centre, our local native animal rescue and hospital.
These precious bundles are for the possums, lorikeets and sugargliders they are currently caring for and will, in some instances, be released back into the wild.
June is a remarkable woman, assisted by a team of volunteers who take care of orphaned joeys, survivors of bushfires, the broken winged and the broken limbed.

So while not a conventional Valentine's Day blip, there will be some very happy little critters thinking Valentine's Day and Christmas has come rolled into one.

Also thought of titling this 'will you marri me?' but that would just be TOO corny!
