Chitting time

It's been a busy Saturday, digging up veggies for tonight's dinner with old friends and spending the afternoon cooking. I like to make things that I can stick in the oven so that I can sit down and chat before dinner instead of hovering over the stove. This is a view from our wonderful allotment shop run by Brian and volunteers including Chris, who is on duty tomorrow. It's a great way to meet the other allotment holders from the several plots over Winchester, and swap tips.
This is a very busy month as the potato orders are in so people are collecting their orders and like us, putting the seed potatoes in egg boxes to 'chit' until they sprout shoots ready to plant.
Am exhausted now and may have to have a little sit down with the paper. Roll on this evening with Coq au Vin and Apple Tart.
