Laura with her grandad

Monday
Despite the sad reason behind our trip, there has been a joyous outcome - that of spending some time with our youngest daughter Laura, whom we hadn't seen since September, as she is working in Macedonia with the Peace Corps for two years, teaching English in elementary school. We had originally thought of going into Chester for the day, but Edna, Roger's Mum wasn't keen, and then Bernard, his Dad, was feeling a little under the weather, so we decided to stay closer to home. We spent some of the morning over at his parents, then after lunch we went walking at Marbury Country Park, doing our best to avoid the puddles and mud! Janet had been thrilled to spot a bittern there on a recent visit, but unfortunately we didn't see it today. However, I was very pleased with this shot I took of Laura with her grandad - I plan to get a couple of enlargements made, and send one to each of them.
