Arrowsmiths and Beyond

Woke up this morning to a slightly overcast day, and Facebook reminder that it was the Mt Hut open day, and the web cam said it was sunny.

So, after the usual, "1 hour to get ready" (more like 1.5 hours) we were on our way. Drizzly and rainy all the way up, but literally at the base area we broke out, into gorgeous sunshine and views.

Sadly, both kids had late nights last night, so unfortunately didn't appreciate where we were. Hard to believe they both would rather have been at home.

Unlike me. Loved it! How awesome to be at the top of the mountain on fab day. And to answer your question, no, we didn't walk up, we paid $40 for the ride for the family, which was a donation to the Lions Club for fundraising. For $30 per person you could have ridden you bike all day.

So for 2014, if you live in Canterbury. Mark it on your calendar. Great day.
