The Mill

Got up early this morning to take some photos of the surroundings of Hawarden with R from my local Photography club.

Forecast was good, thought a tad cold. We strolled around the church & graveyard for a bit then hit a path leading from the car park only to find a gem of a photo oppertunity - an old (dis-used) water mill. Many of the gears and mechanics are still intact though scattered around due to the building being a ruin. And water still flows around the mill providing numberous superb scenes for shooting.
Shame we only had the morning to take pictures due to afternoon commitments, but at least we have found a place that is local(ish). We will no doubt revisit this place and spend more time there.

This is my pick of about 140 odd pictures taken today. Must go back and re-do the water scenes (long exposure) as they didn't come out as well as I had hoped - not enough infrared light etc.

And here is a select "few" from those 140 odd shots.

This was taken last September in Hawarden.
