Happy birthday nen!

Today is nens 72nd birthday, so after nipping to Morrisons for some picnic food and collecting mum we headed to nens house for a birthday lunch (indoor picnic thanks again to Manchester weather!)
Nen is in a bubble with mum, dad, martin and cat. We are also in a bubble with them for childcare. So we made the decision that we are all one big bubble. We try to stick to the rules as much as possible, but for sometimes I think exceptions need to be made. We have only seen Nen twice since February. She has missed out on so much of Chloe's early childhood, and on seeing Thomas (who is her favourite person in the world!)
Nen doesn't have a camera phone or computer, so although I've sent her regular texts and had photos delivered to her, it's just not the same..
When we got there today her living room is covered in the photos I've sent her over summer, and her kitchen cupboards are covered in Thomas's drawings.
I do think that this virus is something to take seriously, but I also think that mental wellbeing needs to be considered too. Tomorrow isn't promised for any of us and is there any point in staying safe and isolated to protect and prolong life, if there is little to no quality of life?
