317: Greenwich

Our last day in London (we've got sun tans to boot!):-) This is the view from the Greenwich Observatory. At this point we were exhausted but we have had an excellent weekend.

Started with the Monument and have certificates to prove we walked the 311 steps - oh my goodness, thought my heart was going to give out! Certainly my camera did - when we got to the top the battery said it was empty! Took it out and back in the next day and it lasted the whole weekend. Stopped in a hotel very near to The Tower of London.

The next day we did the Tower of London tour - fantastic eye opener - was amazed by this place (had always seen round the outside but had never gone in). From there we did the Tower Bridge exhibition, also an amazing place and awesome engineering. That night stopped in Stratford near the Olympic Park.

Having found out that the Olympic Park wasn't in much of a state to go round due to redevelopment, we went to Greenwich just to have a look round. Will need to do in more detail another time.

Anyway, hope you all had a good weekend. Sorry, haven't managed to catch up with everyone's pics but will try to catch up tomorrow. Now need a bath to relax!
