Carron Crag

The view from the top of yet another Wainwright Outlying Fell but no trouble with the navigation today. In fact we did not even need a map and I'm not sure that Mr Wainwright would have approved of the waymarked trails to get you to the top . It was 3 km trek through rather horrid thick coniferous forest to get to the crag. We were pleased to see a lot of clearance on the way down.  Thank goodness the Forestry Commission are committed to establishing more diversity, we actually heard birds where there were different trees.
It's just  5 or so miles from us as the crow flies but Windermere is in the way. We went the long way round but came back over the ferry to save a few petrol miles and support the ferry, we were the only car  plus 3 cyclists.

PS, this appears to be a Blip Birthday. 2500 entries, how did that happen. I can't even say it was 2,500 paces to the top because I've done 11,000 today. Sorry not more pre-planning. Thank you to everyone who visits regularly or occasionally and thank you for scattering hearts and stars. It's a great site in so many ways. I can't believe how much I have learnt about so many things from posting a photo a day.
