Erigeron

Tiny Tuesday: Erigeron

This tiny little flower has an noble sounding name of epic fantasy possibilities - it sounds for all the world like the name of one of the High Elves in one of Tolkien's lesser known works.  The common name of Mexican Daisy is much more in keeping with its looks and stature however.  For all of that it produces a lovely flowered carpet over one side of our rockery and, as you can see, flowers for large part of the year.

In the States it looks as though Trump is sort of bowing to the inevitable that he hasn't won the election although he has yet to actually come out and say that publicly.  The chance of him going with any sort of good grace seems extraordinarily thin.  In the meantime the Thanksgiving Weekend is coming up and with it the threat of a coronavirus super spreader event....

Over here I'm not sure things are that much better - the 4 elements of the UK are struggling to agree the rules over what is allowed at Christmas, the Corbyn supporting faction stage a walk out at the NEC, Boris is accused of "marking his own homework" in the Priti Patel enquiry and apparently Steve Baker, deputy chair of the lockdown-sceptic Covid Recovery Group and ardent brexiteer is threatening to challenge lockdown restrictions in the European Court of Human Rights.  Oh the irony of that last one.

Still it is just a month to go now before Santa will be packing his sleigh in readiness for his annual visit to all of the world's chimneys.  If your sprouts aren't already on you've left it too late.  It is nearly time to write those Christmas cards and to dust of those Christmas playlists.   Of course, you have to get through Black Friday first....
