A Day In The Life

Final Chore

MrsP and I removed a large group of leaves that had collected on the side of the house near our shed. It was a bit too big to ignore. Also aware that it was likely home to a woolly bear or two, and a few overwintering insects, we were careful not to remove all of the leaves or use the rake to scrape the ground. As expected we uncovered one woolly bear and immediately buried him again. Whew! • All of those leaves got me to thinking about Mother Nature and how the leaves are like letters she has sent to each of us. You’ve Got Mail! • A quick little ditty before I go:

Fallen leaves are Nature’s calling cards,
Each an invitation, scattered and random.
Enjoy the Season’s Splendor, they say,
Fire engine reds,
Oranges aglow,
and so many mellow yellows.
Hurry! They soon will fade away,
Expire to Mother’s embrace, but
Rise and flourish they will!

I’ll continue to work on this, but you get the idea ;)
