For a new course I'm following we have to choose a building from a list of buildings in a nineteenth century villa neighbourhood around the Museumplein area. Me and a friend chose this building and when we were taking some photos of it, the owner came out and asked if he could help us. He kindly offered to send some information about the property (the house is a municipal monument), and he even asked us if we wanted to come inside. Of course we said yes, and he was being the politest host I ever saw. He showed us around his house a bit, and seemed almost to feel guilty that he did not have the construction drawings handy and that he would rather not show us the upper sleeping rooms. He sent the email with extra information within an hour after we left, and even asked us if we'd come back a second time since he forgot to show the back side. Naturally we'll come back.
