The moment we saw a red deer in Yarncliff Wood near Nether Padley. It was amazingly unconcerned with how near we came, even though our group had two dogs, and only slowly moved from the path and downhill to join a further three deer. Such a treat!

It was supposed to be our club's monthly climbing day but it was wet, so we went for a walk starting from Haywood NT carpark near Froggatt. There was a sprinkling of snow higher up but mostly we had continual mizzle and fog... it didn't spoil a lovely walk though and Fi's two collies were in their element, but I didn't envy her the aroma of wet dog in her posh Audi!
