Desert wash

I walked up a wash today in the Preserve, I kept running into things blocking my way. So I'd get out and then climb back in. A wash here in Arizona is where run-off water goes during a hard rain. The ground is so hard from the heat and with the rain coming down so hard it causes flash floods. The ground does not absorb all this water so it causes huge rushing water down these "washes." Lolo and I often walk through one near us, we keep seeing dead bird carcasses with the guts cleaned out. I wonder if its our neighborhood owls hunting.

It was a nice day and I got several much needed chores done along with my hike. Still have not put up the Christmas lights! :-)
