Wittunga

A botanic garden in the next suburb.  It's a beautiful place to walk through, and has a marvelous collection of proteas and many other South African plants.

You know how we got $100,000 for OGH?  Well, Wittunga attracted a whopping grant of three quarters of a million to upgrade.  I believe they are putting in a new play area.  And State Flora is moving from Belair NP to Wittunga.  It will be a good commercial move for them, but it's the end of a slice history. 

They have been in Belair for close to 150 years, and we have no idea what is going to happen to their space which is right next door to OGH.  The Woods and Forests (which became State Flora) bosses used to live in the OGH complex until the 1960's.
