Myocastor coypus

Better known as Coypu, Nutria, Beaver Rat.
Teba and I walked around the Reinheimer Teich (nature reserve) and spotted this animal. From a distance it looks like a beaver, but a) it was two in the afternoon and b) the tail is like that of a rat, not wide like a beaver's.
The coypus don't cut whole trees like beavers, they can only cut branches of 5cm diameter.
Nevertheless it is quite a large animal and very interesting to see. Unfortunately, also this animal is invasive, it doesn't belong here and makes life for domestic animals, like the beaver, hard. We humans should stop interfering so much with nature.
