The next train . . . .

We are fortunate in Bookham that we still have our original pretty Victorian railway station. Elsewhere on this line the old stations have been pulled down and horrid prefabricated monstrosities have taken their place.

The line through Bookham was opened in 1885 and the station was built in 1887. The station is almost a mile from the village and when we first moved here it had a goods yard alongside. Now this is a car park where it costs a fortune to park for the day.

I didn't park for the day - it was still far too cold. I had been determined to get out and about today but didn't go far!

The weather forecast is for the cold grey days to last for the rest of the week. I'm making a resolution:- I will not moan about the weather again this week!
