Waterfoot Sunrise

Enjoying the Sun

Although its been mostly dry for over a week now, this has been the first day in ages that we have had wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. Certainly lifts the spirits and gets you in the mood for a spot of gardening. It was even warm enough to sit outside and have a coffee with a friend this morning.

The bitterly cold nights mean the birds are at the feeders early looking for food to keep them warm. Not sure if this little Robin has been watching Tommy, but first thing in the morning, when his hunger pangs must be at their greatest, he is prepared to tentatively take some food from my hand. His preferred technique is to land on my hand and flap his wings madly to shake off some of the seeds, which he then proceeds to eat.

With the bright light and lots of bird activity, the little Robin just had to be the blip for the day!

If you go LARGE you will even see our house reflected in its eye and the sun sparkling off the stainless steel flue.
