Abundance of lichen

Another very wet day. This lichen was the brightest thing on my walk. The paths are just mud (extra) so one slithers along.
The death toll from Covid in the UK is the highest it has ever been which is sad and worrying.
BUT, the US has a new president - president Biden was inaugurated today, and while although he has a daunting task ahead of him, at this time we can hope.
