LD 305. The southern aqueduct.

We walked along the Union canal to the southern aqueduct, which terminates at the top of the Falkirk Wheel (complex opened in in 2002). Obviously everything is closed. Very few folks about, that’s fine. It was cold; a duvet jacket day. The Ochils had snow on them; near, but at present so far away. Photo taken from above the Roughcastle tunnel.

Finally took in our coloured Christmas lights this afternoon.

Coronavirus vaccination programme proceeding well and to JVCI priorities. There was praise for the system here from Sir David Nabarro, World Health Organisation Special Envoy. And selective media criticism. ONS figures today confirm during w/e 16 January 1 in 55 in England had COVID-19, 1 in 100 in Scotland, 1 in 60 in N Ireland and 1 in 70 Wales.

Made lentil soup.

Our younger son advised his weekend golf is off due to snow. Older son and fiancé are well.
