A bonus walk!

Wednesday 27th January 2021                  (backblip)

Much improved weather ...... it was dry with wintry sunshine & so still .... not a breath of wind!

Hubby's day off & as we didn't have anything pressing that needed doing we decided to make the most of it & go for a walk up the road :-)

It was a lovely walk .... we saw Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Great Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Cormorants, Robins, Blackbirds & Magpies.

We also saw both the male & female Kestrel (pictured above) & Blue Tits (one pictured above).

The bottom left image was once birds nest ...... it's been "converted" into a drey by a Squirrel as a home for Winter! This was mentioned on Winterwatch ...... some of you probably saw it .... so I looked to see if I could find one & I found two!

Bottom right is something strange oozing or growing on the bark of a tree ..... this was the best image I could get as the tree was behind a fence.

Does anyone know what the mystery substance is please?

Extra: This amused me ...... it was on the edge of the wood ..... not much use having a bin & then padlocking it shut!

Had coffee when we got back then went & did the supermarket shop.

Should have been our household waste bin collection today .... but the crews are in isolation because of Covid ..... so no collection for 2 weeks! :-(

Stay safe everyone :-)
