Daffydowndilly

Having been a grey old day, the sun has just appeared and quick dash around the garden undertaken. This year the daffs are plentiful and none have been eaten as usually happens. I have about 6 different varieties all happily nodding in the breeze. The odd ball things above them are fishermen's buoys - it seems traditional to hang reclaimed ones in the trees.

Last night's film Looking for Sugar Man, was amazing. A true story and documentary focusing on Rodriquez - a Mexican/American folk/rock singer from the early 70s. He produced two LPs which his producers were sure would be massive hits in America but they sank without trace. A few years later a girl took a copy of one over to some friends in South Africa. Extraordinarily he then became a massive hit as his lyrics seem to hit out against apartheid. Bizarrely everyone thought he was dead but the South African record producer decided to find out about the man. At this point I shall say no more in case you go and see the film. Do if it comes your way for it's beautifully made ( by a friend of Jkjio ) and the music is very haunting.

Tonight is Ladies' Book Club. The last meeting, which I didn't attend but recieved numerous emails about, was a bit fraught so tonight's meeting could be interesting. We should be discussing The Time Keeper which I loathed - about a neolithic bloke chosen by God to discover things, made immortal so he can help two people in the 21C. Very smart arse and preachy, Hurrumph!
And the muck spreader has just arrived in the field next door!
