Erskineville Housing Scheme

Erskineville’s public housing turns out to have an interesting history. It was built in the mid-1930s, before public housing really took off as a result of post-WWII shortages and slum clearances. There are seven two-storey blocks, each with eight flats, and lots of green space, trees and residents’ gardens. Surprising that the State government hasn’t sold it off to developers.

Thanks for hosting Bob.
