Ice Sculptures

The last few days have been incredibly cold.  I remember taking photos back in 2010 of a footbridge over a ford near work and the ice crystals had formed all of the way down from the footbridge to the water, over a metre below.

These ice sculptures have been formed in the same way, as vehicles have driven through the flooded section of road, throwing water up onto the adjacent hedge.  You can see from the photo that it has formed dense ice up to almost 2 metres high.

It reminded me of something.  It only dawned on me later that it was a children's TV programme from the 60s, I believe it was originally in a foreign language, dubbed into English. Might it have been the Singing, Ringing Tree?
