Turkey Oak

The last of my walks around the park on the way home from work. This item is just outside the children`s play area.
This Turkey Oak was planted in around 1846. It fell in August 2005 because of a disease that decayed the root system.
It was estimated to have weighed 20 tonnes before it fell. This remaining section of the stem (bole) weighs 9.1 tonnes
To give some idea of the weight 3 male African elephants weigh about 20 tonnes.
