'Painting' a tulip

A merge of two ICM shots of the same tulip and a bit of fiddling in PS Elements with the Cutout artistic filter and adding a lighter frame.
For today's optional Abstract Thursday theme of 'painterly' .

Feeling a bit sad today, my Mom's 86th birthday in Italy and son no 1's 35th birthday over here coming up next week but neither can be properly celebrated and I have no idea how to make it special in any other way apart from a video-call. Last year on Mom's 85th birthday North Italy was already totally in the clutches of the virus and travel was not possible, not for us nor for my sisters who do live in Italy too and it isn't much better now. And of course I can bake the traditional family apple pie for D's birthday and bring it to him, but that means that's the one visit by one person only is done for that day, no other family members visits allowed.
Seeing huge scores of people having illegitimate get-togethers in the parks on a beautiful Spring Day doesn't help, how are we ever going to get out of this mess if people just do as they like ? I'm grumpy and sad !

Thanks very much for the kind comments and stars for the creepy and wild tree shadows yesterday :-)
