Fox Run Park

Thursday
A beautiful sunny day, though a little on the cool side. Knowing that some of our usual walking places would be really muddy with the snow melt, we decided to check out a new place I had read about through Cincinnati Hikes FB page, Fox Run Park, across the Ohio River near Independence, Kentucky. It is actually a disused golf course, which has been repurposed into a park, so the trail is paved. It is, however, a very hilly golf course, in fact we thought some slopes would have been rather steep for golf carts, so you get a pretty good workout. I was hoping it might be a good place for bird life, but whilst we heard them, we didn’t see many. I chose this particular shot for my blip, as I loved the shadow of the tree on the grass. The grass is looking it’s typical, somewhat yellowed winter hue, especially having been covered with snow for the best part of two weeks. On our way back home, we stopped off at Jungle Jim’s Eastgate store, to pick up a few English groceries. One of the things we were hoping to get was some chocolate digestives - we had been able to get them at our local supermarket, but the last month or so they seem to have stopped stocking them. Unfortunately Jungle Jim’s, while they had the regular digestives, didn’t have the chocolate ones either!
