Gämse in Aargau

This was probably the most memorable little hikes close to home I’ve ever done. In the middle of the afternoon, the sun came out, even though it was quite windy, with the cold easterly Bise, Mr S suggested a walk on some little hills we haven’t been on before near Brugg.
The hike was on the Bützberg, a beautiful hill with limestone crags and mixed scots pine and oak. We headed up, zig zagging up the wide well built forest tracks, then almost on the top ridge, I had a Short stop to take a layer off and get the camera out. Rucksack back on, Mr S noticed a herd of Gämse running across the track in front of us. Just too late with the camera, I was slightly disappointed but also incredibly excited. I’ve never seen one in the lowlands before, but knew there was quite a few in our canton. We stood there for a minute, then luckily a few more came past. This was the last one, and he stopped, looked back, then carried on, so about 20 came past altogether.
The rest of the walk was fantastic high up, surrounded by trees, and then breaks to see the views. We found a spot that looked like there maybe some wild boar up there too.
The walk was 6km, 200m of ascent and we were on the way for just under 2 hours
