Surprise flowers

This week I have dutifully been handing parcels to G and placing post on the mantle piece for my birthday next week. When a box of flowers arrived with no address label, no card and no sign of who they were from, I was allowed to open them.

I accused the one friend I know uses that company but they claimed innocence. A call to the company later and I had worked out they were from my sister.

These blooms arrived tightly furled with a protective mesh sleeve. In the time it took me to arrange the hunch they had already begun to unfurl.
