The Howff - Dundee

Working in Dundee today.

The Howff is just over the road from the post office.

The sign at the gate says that it is the grounds of the Grey Friars monastery which was destroyed and the land granted to the City in 1564 by Mary Queen of Scots. It was used as a meeting place, or Howff, until 1776.

It is a lovely little peaceful space in the middle of the city.
