Dunbar Birthplace of John Muir

John Muir the American naturalist, author, and advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States was born in Dunbar, East Lothian. There is an excellent wee museum dedicated and a statue of him as a child, both on the High Street.

Underrated even by the locals, Dunbar is going through something of a revival at present - some interesting arty shops and a newish baking cooperative. Had a pleasant lunch with A today before picking up my mountain bike.
