Donated to the people of Kirkintilloch in 1905...

Spray painted by the neds of Kirkintilloch in 2013.

This once-proud lion, adorns the south facade of the fountain in Kirkintilloch's Peel Park. Built by the Lion Foundry, it now acts as a memorial to this lost local industry...and 108 years after it was donated to the town, one of the locals has decided to spruce it up with a can of spray paint (he was probably bored after he ran out of Buckfast!
