Painshill Park

Thankfully it was a lovely sunny morning, blue skies and bright and there was no evidence of the snowfall from yesterday. I enjoyed my walk in the sunshine with Xena in the woods.

After lunch I went to Painshill Park to meet up with Rosemary (my mentor) and another member of our camera club. By now it was a bit cloudy and by the end of the walk the light was flat as can be seen here. Can you see Mr and Mrs goose going for a walk?

Painshill Park is an 18th century landscaped garden which has various follies dotted around, as was the fashion at the time by wealthy landowners. This bridge was in a scene in Bridgerton, and you may recognise the temple folly up the hill on the left which has been used in many movie scenes. After our walk we sat outside and had a coffee/tea and by the time we finished and left to go home I was very cold. It is not great weather for socialising outdoors!

Not good news about a small outbreak of the SA variant of Covid in south London - it is a constant challenge keeping this virus at bay. I do like the analogy to Swiss cheese to explain how we need a combination of methods to stay safe, and why you cannot remove masks yet once you have had both vaccines.

Yay, Boris has had a haircut! I feel almost more relieved at that sight than my excitement at getting my own hair done on Friday.
