Malham Cove and The Girl in The Groove

Malham is one of Yorkshire’s jewels. We walked around the Tarn, seeing a lizard, a hare, and a nuthatch busy going in and out of a hole in a tree, it was beautiful, quiet and peaceful.
From there we walked down Comb Scar to the top of the cove and onto the Limestone Pavement also known as the Grikes. (see R 3 pictures in the collage)
We then spent time in the bottom of the cove watching the climbers. The Groove is a climbing route - popular apparently! - the route and girl can be seen in the L side of the collage - it’s right up the centre of the cove.
Lovely wildlife in the sunshine today, a reed bunting at the edge of the tarn and a wheatear near the grikes, the lamb is a nod to Silly Saturday - I love the ‘clown’ eyes, someone out there may know the breed.
Nearly 24,000 steps - a good day out
