resting ...again

Hot, sunny, left late (no surprises there if you know us) changed our minds about route to take after chatting to Don & Ali (very helpful walkers just down after a few days in the bush) The packpack was heavy, scenery stunning, nature vast and people minimal - 4 on the track and 5 staying in the hut above us.
5 hour walk up to Fenella hut - at 15 dollars pppn we opted to stay 20 mins away in a freebee hut called Cobb Hut. Soon had a fire alight and dinner cooking. Huge and glorious night sky with only 'Russell' the Wecker bird to keep us company - a chicken sized cheeky bird who likes to steal anything, edible or not! We were tucked up in bed by 10.30 due to candle light only and aching bodies, its been many years since either of us carried a back pack. Happy and snug in our tin hut in the middle of nowhere, strange what makes us happy!
