Reasons to be cheerful

Blue skies all day.

The beech tree, which had to be rescued by a tree surgeon after attack by the rude farmer, is finally in bud.

A trip to Dingwall, force majeure, where everyone was masked up, no exceptions, maintaining social distance, keeping each other safe. Quite unlike pictures coming from the London moronosphere today.

Everyone we met, cheerful, rubbing cheerfulness off on everyone else.

Visit to the farm shop, its usual hive of happiness.

Lunch of cod, local new potatoes, the year's first fresh peas, new season sprouts, the world's biggest blueberries and local cream.

A book starting with "Epitaph in a Country Churchyard".
     Here lies Ned Bunn, who was killed with a gun
     His name was not Bunn, his name was Wood;
     But as Wood would not Rhyme with gun,
     I thought Bunn should.
And that, dear readers, is core to the plot

A piece of farm shop home made gingerbread. Exquisite. I have some left and you're not having it.

And a glass of Faugères with my saucisson sec and sourdough.

That'll do to be going on with.
