Bridges

I got out for a long bike ride today in the beautiful weather: down the old railway to Musselburgh, along the coastline of the Forth to South Queensferry, over the Forth Road Bridge to North Queensferry, and home via the centre of Edinburgh. Again I discovered new places, and experienced familiar ones from a bike rather than a car. The highlight was getting great views of the Forth Rail Bridge, though!

If the Forth Rail Bridge is new to you, it's a rare cantilever design, and is over 100 years old. There's only one (in Quebec, and I've seen it) that has a slightly longer span, but only a single span, so it isn't remotely as impressive.
