Shopping Centre

In the 1960s Torbay planners decided that Paignton, a Devon seaside town, needed a shopping centre of concrete boxes accessed via a dark and desolate wind tunnel. It didn’t succeed, and the shops have been empty for a few years. Thankfully it is subject to compulsory purchase with apartments panned. I expect they were particularly proud of this one brutal little steel bench. It is called Crossways, and was uninviting even in today’s bright sunshine.
