Original drainage on the Orry

This is part of the original drainage system which was installed for the mill.
The mill was burnt down I think in 1876.
The village then fell into disrepair for a while as people left for pastures new.
It became a day trippers haunt for the well heeled in Glasgow who frequented the village in their coaches ,horse drawn of course, and it became a place where the wheelers and dealers from the city came to live.
Not much changed there then.
